Living a self-determined life shouldn’t really be a big problem in our free society – after all, the possibilities for shaping your life are almost unlimited. But for me, my reality looked very different for a very long time. <\/p>\n
In my personal presentation to the outside world, almost everything seemed perfect:<\/strong> married, managing director of a software company, penthouse in Munich City, very active in sports, great lifestyle, regular long vacations. Everything was great, right? <\/p>\n But there was a bubbling volcano hidden in my inner world<\/strong>, as I know today – which somehow threatened to erupt. I felt this power, but not in a constructive way and so I pushed it away and \u201cignored\u201d some things inside me. <\/p>\n Constantly annoyed and irritated by everything, rarely satisfied, always stressed, little time. I had to keep going, higher, faster, further, because I couldn’t stand the here and now and therefore myself. Physical problems were my constant companions. Driven by myself is a better description, to the point of exhaustion and without any real access to myself. Today I can say that I was in survival mode for years without realizing it: sleeping, eating, working, functioning every day – nothing more and nothing less! <\/p>\n When you are in survival mode<\/strong>, you feel little and especially not yourself.
