Much of this has a common root: the ego. In the new episode of <em>Men in Crisis <\/em>, I talk about why our ego often sabotages not only relationships, but also our own lives.  <br\/><br\/>It&#8217;s about men who always have to be right, who immediately perceive criticism as an attack and can hardly apologize. The ego protects its own image at all costs. Allowing other perspectives and opinions quickly feels like a threat, even if the other person might be right.  <br\/><br\/>This can be seen on a large scale as well as on a small scale: in job titles, status, relationships or arguments that escalate further and further simply because no one wants to give in. Often it&#8217;s no longer about the issue at hand, but only about defending one&#8217;s own ego. <br\/><br\/>The paradox is that the more the ego dominates, the greater the inner pressure. You constantly have to present more, achieve more, appear greater, while you become more and more insecure inside.
